In the Arthur Dunn trophy, the Old Salopians are in the Quarter finals against Old Kimboltians which are due to be played by mid May. The Salopians have so far beaten Old Shirburnians and recently a very strong Old Etonians side.

Old Etonians 0 - Old Salopians 1

Date : 17 April 2021

Location : Club Des Sports, East Acton (due to Cricket season at Eton College)

This was a fixture which on paper favoured the Etonians who came third in the top division of the league the previous season (the division above where our 1st XI play).

The fixture started frantically with both sides closing down their opponents with tactical fouls and terrific energy. The tie could have gone either way with spectators thinking that 1-0 to either side could be the end result.

The Salopians missed a few chances in the second half but, when the time mattered, a ball was played through the middle between the Etonian centre backs and Raul Alexis (SH 2006-2009) pounced on the chance, slotting a left footed strike into the bottom right hand corner of the goal with 25 minutes to play.

The Salopians held on and in all honesty suffered few final attacks with our defence playing a very composed and dominant match. Man of the match was our centre half Charlie Pilkington (G 2006-2011).
