First outing on the tideway for rowing crews in Fours Head

On Saturday, five Shrewsbury crews traveled to London to compete in the Fours Head over the 4.25-mile championship course on the tideway.

The event plays host to over four hundred crews racing in fours and quads.

The Senior Boys had three crews racing with the coxless quad placing 11^th of 43 crews and two coxed fours placing 13^th and 18^th of 29 crews. The Senior Girls raced in two coxless quads and placed 6^th and 28^th of 42 crews in their event.

It was a great event and a fantastic experience for most of the pupils in their first outing on the tideway. The crews will be hoping to build on their results when they return to the tideway in March for the Women’s Eights Head and the Schools’ Head.
