Medal wins for Salopians in British Biology Olympiad
Salopians have performed extremely well in the British Biology 2022 Olympiad.
The British Biology Olympiad (BBO) challenges and stimulates students with an interest in biology to expand and extend their talents. The competition consists of two, 45-minute multiple choice papers to be taken online under staff supervised exam conditions.
Students were presented with topics and ideas which they are not familiar with, so they had to use their problem-solving skills and understanding of core principles.
Over 10,000 students from more than 700 schools worldwide took part in this year's competition. The top 5% won Gold, the next 10% Silver and the next 15% Bronze.
Shrewsbury School pupils have received some incredible results, with eight pupils winning medals and a further nine pupils highly commended.
