Old Salopian Golfers take on the School Team at Hawkstone Park Golf Club

On a cold and drizzly Sunday the Old Salopian Golfers played a team from the School in a revival of the annual fixture.

Twelve OS and twelve students played Pinehurst Foursomes for the BWD Rensburg Bowl Trophy with the Old Salopians emerging victorious.

The afternoon started with a hearty lunch in the club house restaurant Lyle’s which is named after Sandy Lyle. The Open and Masters Champion grew up in Shropshire and learnt his trade on the course where his father was the club professional.

The OS team included Sinead McGrath (MSH 2009-11) who joined the team for the first time. Sinead is the Operations Executive at the Golf Legends Tour. She has recently turned her hobby into her job through her life as a social media influencer. More than 12 thousand people follow her on Instagram where she posts about golf and her life working in the sport.
