Player-of-the-match performance for cricketer Theo in India
A Shrewsbury Sixth Former has played a starring role in the England U19s tour of India.
Theo W (O, UVI) gave a player-of-the-match performance, hitting 118 for the England U19 team on Monday, as his side defeated India B U19s in Mulapadu.
In the third match of their tour of India, the hosts posted an imposing total of 319-4, with Theo bowling a tidy spell of 0-38 from 6 overs. He then came to the fore with the bat, smashing 17 fours and two sixes from just 110 deliveries. He shared a crucial partnership of 128 with Thain as the tourists set a platform for a thrilling last-over victory.
Following on from his two centuries for the England Young Lions and a half-century for the full U19 side, Monday's achievement is another significant milestone in his development. He will now have high hopes of being selected for the U19 World Cup which takes place in Sri Lanka in January.
