New Housemistress of Queen Elizabeth Hall announced


We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Rebecca Jarrett as the Housemistress of Queen Elizabeth Hall from 1 September 2025.
After a thorough recruitment process, which included a panel of Queen’s girls, Rebecca emerged as the outstanding candidate to take on the leadership of the House from Sally Pearson.
Rebecca is currently Head of Boarding and senior girls’ Housemistress at Marlborough College, Malaysia. Before moving to Malaysia, Rebecca was a Housemistress and Teacher of Biology at LVS Ascot for five years. Prior to that, Rebecca taught Biology at Wellington College, where she was also an Assistant Housemistress. She started her teaching career in the Biology Department at Cokethorpe School, where she was also Head of Year 7.
Rebecca studied Biological Anthropology at the University of Cambridge, where she also played hockey and lacrosse. She gained her PGCE from the University of Oxford. A keen volunteer, marathon runner and sportswoman, Rebecca combines excellent pastoral skills with a sharp intellect. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Boarding, a Level Four (the highest) boarding practitioner and has regularly delivered pastoral training for the Boarding Schools Association.
Rebecca is married and has three children. The family will be moving into Queen’s over the summer holidays ready to start the new academic year as Housemistress of Queen’s.
