There has been great success for Third and Fourth form pupils who have achieved Distinction and Merit awards in the UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge 2021.  

The Bebras Computing Challenge introduces computational thinking to students and takes place in over 40 countries.  

This year all Third Form pupils entered the competition during their Computing lessons. There were over 155,000 pupils competing in this category in the UK. 

At Shrewsbury 36 pupils achieved a Distinction award and of those 20 received a Gold Award for ranking in the top 10% nationally.  Jeremy C (R) and Asaka F (M) were best in school, and 31 pupils achieved a Merit for their performance. 

Twenty three pupils from the Fourth Form who study Computer Science GCSE entered the Senior category of the competition. There were almost 30,000 pupils in this category in the UK. 

Six Salopians achieved a Distinction award, all of whom were also awarded Gold certificates, with Lincoln L (S), Harold J (S) and Cheuk Yiu M (Ch) tied for best in school. Six pupils also achieved a Merit for their performance.
