Rowing

On Monday evening the Boat Club held the annual Hope Simpson Ergo Challenge in the Sports Hall.

The event saw house teams of four tackle a prescribed distance on the rowing ergometer. The 3rd, 4th and 5th Form girls covered 1750m with the boys racing 2000m. The L6th and U6th Girls raced 2500m with the boys racing 3000m.

The Sports Hall turns into a cauldron of house spirit with a mix of colour and vocal support. The significant effort and determination on display across all the houses was tremendous. With points for the overall trophies based on finish position every team’s contribution counted. The final placings were often only decided by fractions of a second.

The third form competition was won by Rigg’s and Moser’s. The fourth form by Radbrook and Emma Darwin Hall. The fifth form by Radbrook and Moser’s. The Lower Sixth by Oldham’s and Emma Darwin Hall and the Upper Sixth competition by Radbrook and Grove.

The combined points total from all five-year groups saw Radbrook and Emma Darwin Hall claim overall victory.
