Students embrace academic opportunities and enrich their learning
The start of term has seen a wealth of opportunities for students to extend and enrich their learning.
Our Dialogues series has provided a range of interactive talks and debates on topics as diverse as trade unions, behavioural science and futureproofing businesses. The theatre was full last week for Dr Adam Booth's talk on his experience of acclimatising for reaching the summit of mountains such as Kanchenjunga, and next term's programme has attracted a number of exciting guest speakers from a range of academic disciplines.
Meanwhile, over 50 Fourth Form students have signed up to embark on an optional research project (the Higher Project Qualification), with some very exciting initial project proposals. Students are keen to embrace their own academic interests, and this provides a wonderful opportunity for personalised learning.
Academic scholars have been invited to welcome talks and lunches, to support and encourage their commitment to the academic life of the school. Further opportunities will be outlined as the academic year progresses, but academic enrichment activities are open to all.
