Pupils gain expertise in preparing for exams
Over the last couple of weeks, we have welcomed Elevate Education to address our Fifth Form and Upper Sixth pupils.
The company specialises in preparing pupils for exams, and focused on strategies for self-motivation, time management and wellbeing in their interactive sessions.
This was a helpful way of reinforcing the study skills taught across the curriculum and in various workshops delivered by Mrs Mitchell (Head of Learning Support).
Pupils commented on a number of useful revision techniques shared by the presenters, all who have recently had high success in examinations themselves. These included effective use of past papers, colour coding specifications (red, amber, green) and of course ensuring that pupils ask their teachers for help wherever they need it. Pupils took away a booklet of these useful strategies for 'acing their exams', which we hope will be helpful for them over the holidays.
Parents may also wish to sign up for free follow-up webinars, which focus on supporting children as they approach exam season. They are available here.
The next sessions will be:
April 30th - Q&A
May 14th - Memorisation
June 18th - Stress and wellbeing
