One Salopian has completed an amazing fundraising challenge by walking and running over 120 miles and has raised more than £1,200.

Throughout February, Kate B (IV, MSH) walked and ran 121 miles as part of the Air 30 Airbase challenge; an initiative organised by the Midlands Air Ambulance as part of the charity’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

Kate was taking part in the challenge along with her cousins Charlotte and Elliot, in order to raise money after her friend Henry, who also completed a fundraising challenge, was taken to hospital by the Midlands Air Ambulance following an accident last year.

Kate’s final fundraising total was an amazing £1,225 and along with her cousins’ and Henry, the team have raised £9,500, with hopes to reach a grand total of £10,000.

Kate said:

It has gone well, with a few different obstacles we all completed our individual set tasks. I did enjoy the challenge, and I feel that now I still have the motivation to go outside because I was outside so much! It is an amazing charity and I wish to do more challenges in the future.

The fundraisers even managed to raise awareness for the charity after Kate featured in several news items about Henry and the challenge, which were seen on ITV News, BBC News Online and Birmingham Live.

Well done Kate on completing your challenge and raising money for a good cause.
