Salopians aged 18 to 91 enjoy drinks in Birmingham

Old Salopians based in the Midlands gathered at the new venue of Primitivo for the annual drinks party which is an excellent curtain raiser to the festive season.

The joy of many Salopian Club events is seeing OS from many different eras mixing and comparing their experience of School. The Birmingham Drinks surely wins the prize for the widest spectrum of age groups with 18-year-old Praeposters socialising with one former pupil who started at Ridgemount four months after VE Day.

This was the first year at a new venue after All Bar One sadly closed. Primitivo proved a very good alternative even if we might have to put them right on the name of the Club!

For those who travelled in the minibus from Shrewsbury it wasn't the easiest of journeys leaving at 4:45pm and arriving close to 8, but delicious food and wine and good conversation meant the strain of the M6 on a wet and cold November night were quickly forgotten.
