New Futures Event sees Shropshire businesses visit Shrewsbury
Monday 10th June saw the introduction of a new event for our Fourth Form pupils, entitled ‘Future Leaders, Celebrating Shropshire’.
This activity had two distinct but connected parts – the first was a very interactive and lively workshop expertly delivered by an external organisation called Loudspeaker. Here, pupils were taken through a series of exercises on the art of communication, with presentation and decision-making skills at the heart of this interaction.
In the afternoon, pupils were able to demonstrate these skills as they engaged with Shropshire-based businesses, learning more about some of the opportunities available in our wonderful county. These conversations will prove to be particularly helpful later this year when this cohort is asked to consider sixth form selections and work experience placement ideas.
Since the event, pupil feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and I would like to place on record how grateful I am to Loudspeaker, Interactive Opportunities, the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce and all of our brilliant workshop facilitators who visited Shrewsbury School. We are considering carefully how we can expand this activity further in 2025 and look forward to sharing further details of this in the coming months.
