Rain stopped play but not the party!
The optimistically titled 'Salopian Club Summer Party' took place at Shepherd's Bush Cricket Club.
Organisers James Kidson (O 2003-08) and Becky Home (MSH 2011-13) from the Young OS Committee had momentarily considered cancelling when the weather forecast went from bad to worse but it takes more than a torrential downpour to dampen the Salopian spirit. The Saracens valiantly took to the field to play a Shepherd's Bush XI as the skies darkened overhead. Around 10 minutes of cricket were played until the pitch became dangerously slippery and everyone adjourned inside or under the patio umbrellas to enjoy the free bar.
Around 50 people battled out to West London for what turned into an extremely enjoyable evening of typically Salopian good conversation, laughter and catching up. Thanks again to Becky and James for organising and to Mr Wain, Head of Futures for supporting the event.
