Shrewsbury
An evening of impressive music-making in honour of former Headmaster
It was delightful to welcome Ted Maidment, ex-Headmaster (1988-2001) to a recital in the Maidment given by a selection of our current music scholars on last Thursday.
As many of you know the Maidment building is the engine room, the hub of activity for all things musical here at Shrewsbury and Ted was instrumental in ensuring it’s development, from planning to design and funding, it really would not have happened without him. Opened in 2001 by the then Prince of Wales, it has changed little since but still provides exceptional acoustics for chamber recitals like Thursday's.
Our scholars, as ever, did us proud whether there as a supportive role or to perform, we were treated to an evening of impressive music making given by a individuals and chamber musicians in a truly excellent concert.
Well done all!
