Canada calling: a visit from the University of Toronto
We were delighted to welcome Miriam Irvine, Associate Director of Student Recruitment at the University of Toronto this week, as she wanted to get to know more about life at Shrewsbury.
The University of Toronto is a popular choice for Salopians wishing to look broadly for their post-school plans, with a dozen or so applications each year. A world top 20 university, it combines the specialism of the UK Higher Education setup with the facilities and opportunities for breadth that is common with those in the US, at sometimes half the price.
Miriam took the time to meet with interested students one to one, as well as to meet some of those heading to Ontario in September, including Tom W (Rt), who is intending to study Engineering, and Charlie S (I), who will be going to study Computer Science.
We are always keen to offer opportunities for Salopians to explore a wide range of options; the next chance will be at our international universities fair on Wednesday 1st May, where a handful of varying institutions across the globe will meet pupils over lunch.
