Rowing crews make significant progress during training days
Despite not being able to run the annual training camps, rowers enjoyed a two-day session on the water.
With the restriction on international travel and overnight trips in place, the Boat Club could not run its usual annual April training camps and instead ran two short series of training days to get the crews out on the water.
The J15s were the first to get going and having had a very limited time on the water in the preceding term, it was a great opportunity to get them out in a range of boats. For the land training sessions and crew boat-work the rowers were based at the boathouse. For small boat-work we travelled to Bomere.
All involved made significant progress in a short space of time and it was a great opportunity to have the Senior Boys and Girls coaches working with the J15’s.
At the end of the holiday, it was the chance of the Seniors and J16’s to get out on the water. The weather was fantastic and the timely easing of some travel restrictions allowed the Senior Boys and Girls to get some time out on Lake Vyrnwy.
