Maturity and Musicianship showcased at Marina and Jay's Duo Concert
On Friday evening, Marina K (EDH, V) and Jay W (SH, UVI) performed their very own evening recital, ably accompanied by Godwin Y (SH).
The programme was well selected and demonstrated maturity and musicianship; from the impressive ensemble playing in the Debussy Violin Sonata in G minor to the percussive and intriguing solo marimba piece, Wind in the Bamboo Grove by Keiko Abe, there was something to keep everyone present, mesmerised.
At a time where most 5th form and Upper Sixth students are deeply immersed in their books, Marina and Jay astonished the audience with a performance of professional quality that was thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end. The whole programme was inspirational and featured some incredibly virtuosic playing, they should all be very proud of their achievements.
