A musical Third former has been nominated in two categories in one of the largest independent music awards.

Cormac T (R, III) has been nominated for World Artist of the Year and Vocalist of the Year (aged 13-17) in the Josie Music Awards which will be held in Nashville in October.

The Josie Music Awards is an all-genre music award show ceremony which recognises and rewards outstanding talents and creativity across the independent music industry. Since its inaugural celebration in 2015, the Josie Music Awards was, is, and remains the largest independent artist award show globally.

Director of Music, Maria McKenzie said: "It was wonderful to hear that Cormac has been nominated for the Josie Music Awards, even attending the red-carpet event in Nashville will be a huge opportunity for him and one that we wish him every success!

"Having been nominated in two categories World Artist of the Year’ (for singing in a  language that is not his own) and Vocalist of the Year (13 to 17) is excellent and we look forward to following how Cormac does!"

Cormac described his nominations: "A few weeks ago I was over the moon to hear from my parents about me being nominated for two awards at the Josie music awards in Nashville, America. It is really good to get this sort of recognition and makes all the hard work over the years really worth it and I really can’t wait to go to Nashville and be at the awards show at the Grand Old OPRY House."
