Shrewsbury students enjoy their ISFA National Representative Team camps
We are thrilled to celebrate the recent achievements of four of our talented footballers.
Isaac E (Rt, LVI), Olivia T-W (M, LVI), Harrison V (O, LVI), and Lilly C-W (G, IV) have excelled on the national stage as members of the Independent Schools Football Associations' (ISFA) representative teams.
Over the Christmas break, Isaac and Olivia attended the U18 ISFA camp at St George’s Park. This two-day event included training sessions, competitive fixtures, career advice and an opportunity to enjoy some of the world-renowned facilities of St George’s Park. Olivia played games against This Girl Kicks (TGK) U18 programme side as well the English Colleges U18 national side, with Isaac playing in games against the Welsh Colleges U19’s and the English Colleges U18 representative side.
Isaac said: “It was an honour to represent ISFA and a brilliant experience because it’s where the national team play” He particularly appreciated learning about pathways in the US and other opportunities post-school.
Isaac has been a member of the ISFA representative programme since U14 level and has represented ISFA at all age groups. He was one of only two U17 age group players to be selected in the ISFA U18 Representative side. Isaac was also selected for an international fixture v the Australia Schools U18 International side that was unfortunately cancelled this January due to a frozen pitch. Isaac’s next game for ISFA will be against the Welsh Schools and Colleges U18 International team, hosted here at Shrewsbury on Sunday 2nd February.
Olivia also had an exceptional time at the camp, and she scored a phenomenal goal in the U18 Girls’ fixture against the U18 ESFA national team. You can watch her stunning goal here.
Harrison represented the U17 ISFA team at a camp in Cambridge, where he received top-quality coaching and was delighted to meet other talented players from different schools.
Lilly also secured a spot on the U15 ISFA representative team and has also been invited to participate in training camps with the U16 ISFA squad later this year. We look forward to seeing what Lilly gets up to next month as her next fixture is against TGK.
