The Boodles ISFA Cup holds cherished memories for Shrewsbury School, with victories in 2000 and 2010.

Now, we have another chance to make history as we face Bradfield College in the final at Stadium MK, home of the MK Dons, on Monday, 17th March. This comes 15 years after our last ISFA final appearance.

Our journey began in Round 3, as we are ranked among the top 8 schools based on our performances over the past five years. We started with a tense 1-0 victory against Marlborough College (A), followed by another 1-0 win against Aldenham at home.

The boys then delivered an incredible second-half performance against Bede’s School in the quarter final, coming from 2-1 down at halftime to secure a dramatic 5-4 win, which set up the semi-final against Repton.

It was a tough match against a strong Repton side that required discipline and a bit of luck. We could have been 1-0 down after five minutes, but a fantastic penalty save from Bertie D P (SH, LVI) kept us level at halftime. Our second-half performance was excellent, with the winning goal scored by Taylor B (R, UVI) in the 72nd minute. The final whistle sparked jubilant celebrations with the watching 2nd XI, Fives players, Old Salopians and parents.

This marks our third consecutive national final, following our ESFA U18 final win last year and our appearance in the 2022/23 ESFA final. The past three years have been remarkable, showcasing the players' hard work, dedication, commitment and quality.

Regardless of the outcome, the 17th March will be a memorable occasion for the players and the School, and we all look forward to it.

The match on March 17th kicks off at 7pm at Stadium MK. Ticket information can be found here.
