Friday, May 27th is Music Celebration Day, with two superlative concerts celebrating The Platinum Jubilee and The Music of Hollywood.

Hollywood Tunes, Alington Hall, 4.30pm Free Admission

Our Summer Concert of Film Music starts at 4.30pm and will last an hour. The Symphony Orchestra, Wind Orchestra and Concert Band will entertain you in Hollywood style. Be prepared to tap your toes to The Greatest Showman, Pirates of the Caribbean and tunes by the legendary John Williams. Three outstanding musicians in the Upper Sixth, Issy, Annie and Melissa will step forward from the orchestra to play farewell solos.

An English Coronation, St Chad’s Church, 7.30pm. £15

The Community Choir will be joined by Marina (organ), George and Oliver (trumpets) in a concert to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Performing music from the 1953 Coronation, the programme includes Zadok the Priest, The Hallelujah Chorus, Jerusalem and The National Anthem. Audience participation is required!
