Shrewsbury
Shrewsbury is a 'singing school' following Song Festival
Last Sunday saw our annual Song Festival taking place in the Maidment.
We were fortunate to welcome as our workshop leader and adjudicator, Dan Ludford-Thomas, an experienced teacher of singing and professional choral conductor. Dan is also currently the Musical Director of the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain.
His experience and enthusiasm for inspiring young singers was immediately evident in the fun and thoughtful workshop he led for sixty students, before adjudicating Intermediate and Senior classes featuring the more advanced singers in the school.
He delivered clear and constructive adjudications, and was obviously impressed with what he heard, writing “Such a privilege to come to visit Shrewsbury for the Singing Festival, to work with the singers and have a front row seat for the 2 competition classes. Great to see such variety, bravery and passion not to mention some very fine singing. Shrewsbury School is clearly a singing school!”
