The Cambrian Patrol is a competition designed to test the skills, teamwork fitness and leadership abilities of some of the best CCF cadets in the country.

The Army Section Cambrian Patrol team competed over the infamous Sennybridge Training Area last weekend and came away with a gold medal. This is a massive success in a national MOD competition, putting the Shrewsbury CCF Army team in the premier league of Army Section teams.

Geography teacher Captain Charlie Kenzie (Officer Commanding Shrewsbury Army Section) who recently left the British Army commented on the team's success:

"I cannot understate the significance of this achievement and how proud I am of the team. The competition is truly gruelling: sleep deprivation and upwards of 30km patrolling across difficult ground whilst completing infantry activities such as Section Attacks which take a huge physical and mental toll on your body. Having spent eight years as a front-line Infantry Officer in the British Army, I know and understand the extent of the challenges they faced over the weekend. I can say with utter certainty, that there are some regular soldiers who would have struggled, if not failed, to complete the arduous nature of this year's exercise"

Particular credit must go to the Section Commander Sgt Charlie S (EDH, LVI) who was ably supported by her 2ic Sgt George E (PH, LVI), SSgt Imo V (G, LVI), Lcpl Casper D (I, LVI) and cadets Will B (PH, IV), Richard W (Rb, IV) Alex M (Rb, IV) and Tom B-B (R, IV)
