Four senior (Fifth and Sixth Form) members of the Society gained their British Canoeing Explorer award, and at least 5 of the Senior members will be receiving their NICAS Level 2 Climbing Awards.
Once they have finished their second open water dive next half term, most of the Senior Adventure society members who chose to do SCUBA diving this year will gain their PADI open water diver award.
Today we also announced the winners of our Adventure trophies for exceptional effort and adventurous spirit in the following categories:
- Climbing winner - Rowan R (Rt, LVI)
- Paddling winner - Humphrey M-E (Rt, IV)
- Skiing winner -Mr Baxendale
- Overall Adventurer of the Year - Bethan R (EDH, IV)
I and the Adventure team look forward to further adventures with the students who stay on in the society, and who join as new members, next year. Until then we look forward to the Activities Week trip to the Lake District and this summer’s Adventure society trip to the Fench Pyrenees.
