Great progress for J15 Rowers at School training Camp
Over the first week of the April holiday, thirty-three J15 rowers took part in a training camp based at the school.
Oldham’s played home for a few days as the rowers enjoyed four days of back-to-back sessions on the water broken up by some good food and video analysis sessions.
It was very useful to get plenty of water time after a disrupted Lent Term due to high river levels. The crews made very pleasing progress out on the Severn in crew boats, and many got the chance to go out in small boats at Bomere.
It was amazing to have the Lead Senior Boys and Girls coaches working with the J15’s as well as the two 1st VIII coxes who both generously volunteered three days of their time to both cox and coach the coxes. The impact they had was tremendous and inspiring.
After supper the rowers had talks about all the things they can do to thrive both on and off the water and the support available. On the final afternoon the pupils were asked what one thing they would change about the camp in the future and the consensus was it should last for a week. A great response from a wonderful four days.
