Well done to Mia H (G, IV), who won the 13-15 year old class at the Chester Musician of the Year on Sunday run by the prestigious Chester Music Society.

Mia performed two contrasting works on her cello, Prayer by Bloch and Allegro appassionato by Saint-Saens. She has now been invited to perform in the winner’s concert in the new year.

After hearing her play Prayer from Jewish Life No.1 by Bloch as part of the lunchtime concert on Friday I can totally understand how she won the class, on Friday she performed with a beautiful musical line and with real sensitivity to the music.

Congratulations Mia!
