Nine athletes selected to represent Shropshire at Mason Trophy

Nine Shrewsbury athletes have been selected to compete at the Mason Trophy inter-county meeting at Northwood Stadium, Stoke this weekend. 

The nine Salopians were selected to represent the Shropshire Schools Athletics Team for tomorrow’s event following their impressive performances the previous weekend.  

The Mason Trophy is for school students from Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 who have excelled at county schools' championships and will see competitors from Greater Manchester, Northants, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire West Midlands, Cheshire, Hereford & Worcester, Warwickshire and Staffordshire. 

The athletes selected for competition are: 

• Ella O (G, IV) - Shot 
• Will B (R, III) - Javelin 
• Daniel O (Rt, V) - Long Jump  
• Zac W (Rb, IV) - 3000m 
• Dele S (Ch, IV) - Long Jump  
• Amelia B (MSH, IV) - 500m 
• Denise M (M, IV) - Long Jump   
• Harry P-M (I, V) - 800m 
• Jack K (PH, V) - 800m
