Shrewsbury School U18 Girls Clinch Victory in Thrilling Hockey County Cup
In a fiercely contested match, our U18 girls have triumphed in the Shropshire School Hockey County Cup, defeating Ellesmere College.
The game was truly a rollercoaster ride, with the girls showcasing indomitable spirit and tenacity.
Despite being 3-2 down, our girls held their nerve and rallied back into the game. Sophia C (MSH, LVI) and Catty C (MSH, LVI) were the stars of the show, each netting a brace, and steering the team to a thrilling 4-3 victory.
This victory has propelled the girls into the top tier of the England Hockey National Cup competitions. Tough challenges await as they face Clifton Bristol and Kings Chester in upcoming home matches.
Led by captain Amaya N (M, UVI), and Vice Captains Georgie S (EDH, UVI) and Sophia C, the team is primed for these challenging battles. Regardless of the outcome, this experience in the top tier of competition will undoubtedly be a great learning curve for our young athletes.
We are immensely proud of their achievement and will continue to support them through their journey. Stay tuned for more updates as our U18 girls continue to make us proud in the England Hockey National Cup competitions.
